Women in Construction Week
March 1-7
Join us as we celebrate this nationwide initiative recognizing and advancing the vital role women play in the construction industry. We’ll be marking the week with a variety of events and activities designed to connect, inspire, and uplift women across our industry. Below is a snapshot of our tentative plans. More details will be shared soon.
Monday, March 2 – Wear Red
Wear NAWIC’s signature red to show your support for women in construction.
Tuesday, March 3 – Blood Drive & ABC Women in Construction Summit
We will host a Blood Drive at the Wohlsen Construction office in Wilmington, DE. Click here to choose a time slot to donate.
We are also teaming up with ABC Delaware for their Women in Construction Summit at the Del One Conference Center in Dover, DE. Click here for the summit sponsor opportunities and registration. *NAWIC members may register at the ABC Member price*
Wednesday, March 4 – WIC Panel
We will host a Women in Construction Panel on Wednesday, March 4 at the NCCVT District Office, bringing together industry leaders and approximately 100 female New Castle County Vo-Tech students for a real-world look at careers in the construction trades. This meaningful event gives students direct access to women who have built successful careers, helping them see what’s possible and empowering them at a pivotal moment in their journey. To make this experience possible, we are seeking four sponsors at $500 each to support transportation, meals, and materials. Sponsorship is a limited, high-impact opportunity to directly invest in the future workforce and make a lasting difference for these students. Thursday, March 5 – Habitat for Humanity Happy Hour
Join NAWIC Chapter #96 and Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County for Women Build Happy Hour on Thursday, March 5 from 5-7 p.m. at Timothy’s on the Riverfront! Price includes appetizers and a drink ticket. Click here to register.
Friday, March 6 – Coffee & Chat
We will round out the week with a casual coffee & chat. Time and location TBD.
